THE ARROW ROCK STOCK AND TRADE REENACTORS ENCAMPMENT
Historical reenactors from the Arrow Rock Stock & Trade Company will conduct an 1830s Santa Fe trader’s encampment in the village. The encampment will be on the great lawn to the west of the J. Huston Tavern, the encampment includes a campfire program on the history of the Santa Fe trail at 7PM on Saturday. Trade with Santa Fe New Mexico began in 1821 and lifted Missouri from economic depression by bringing specie (silver and gold coin), mules, and furs into the state. Visitors to the encampment will learn about the traders’ gear, trade goods, and impact of the Santa Fe trade on Missouri history.
