Persimmon Creek Presentation – Brian Palmer

2024 Persimmon Creek resident Brian Palmer will present and discuss his work this Saturday, June 22 at 6:00 pm at Arrow Rock’s Historic Brown’s Chapel (710 High Street). Topics will include his photographic career; his volunteer work restoring and advocating for Richmond, Virginia’s historic East End and Evergreen Cemeteries; and his ongoing residency in Arrow Rock, where he’s been researching and photographing African-American burial sites in surrounding communities. Afterward, Brian will answer questions about his career as a journalist, image maker, advocate, and citizen volunteer.

Tragically, 2024 Persimmon Creek resident and renowned Missouri painter Byron Smith passed away at his home in Columbia this past weekend as he was preparing to join us in Arrow Rock. We will remember and honor Byron during Saturday’s event, and we hope to have examples of his incredible artwork on hand.

A reception with food and drink will follow the presentation.
